Replace the Mount on your Lens

I admit it, I'm very careless with my camera...I drop it all the time. Unfortunately, the last drop was from high and onto a ceramic floor. The body was not affected, but a tiny little plastic piece on the lens broke off. I didn't think that would be a big deal...turns out, it's a VERY big deal. I did a little surfing and found out the part was the rear bayonet mount...a part that is commonly broken. I also discovered many camera repair places will tell you it is not worth fixing and then will buy your old lens for parts. Guess what? I bought the part for 11cents...yes, under a quarter! Thanks to Sebastian Leroy's video on how to replace it, I successfully changed it out and it cost me under $5! And I also found a camera repair shop that I can trust isn't going to turn around and make money on my items. Sebastian is with ProCameraRepair.com and they have been in the industry since the year I was born! I haven't hooked my lens up to my body yet, but I was able to flicker back and forth to see the different apertures. We will find out tonight at my daughter's dance performance.  If not, I know where I can send it in. Also, if this works, I'm tempted to order the metal bayonet mount as the plastic ones are somewhat fragile.
