The Power of Green...

Living up in the midwest without a "real" studio can pose some challenges for great shots during the winter months. I have a few staple backdrops (black, white and a marble one that I actually despise). I decided to order myself a new stand and it came with a green backdrop...granted, it wasn't very large, but it's good enough for kids and head shots. Don't want to spend the money on fabric just yet? Buy a few feet of green banner paper to practice and see if it fits any needs you have. There are many great programs out there to wipe away the green, but I found if I get the cloth nice and smooth, the freebie ones work just as well! I find it's even nicer for seniors who want unique backdrops that the F-M area cannot offer. I currently use Easy Green Screen (standard) version. Normally I tend to use non-outdoor scenes, such as cool doors, or other fabric looks, but with the golfing, there was really only one way to go! Here are a couple examples of how it worked for me...(remember, you can click to enlarge).

  1. Hi Kirsti!
Thanks for this cool post! I'm just a little confused about the backgrouds that you import into the picture! Is there a program to purchase that just has backgrounds? Are they actions? Thanks!!

  2. No action needed - just use the script. Then place a background/texture on the appropriate layer. I do not purchase backgrounds, but there are many sets you can buy. I find there are enough freebies out there to use.
