Neat Image

Have I mentioned how much I love my Neat Image software plugin? The best thing out there for removing noise (grain) from photos. You can try it for free on your small images (1024px) or just download the standalone software for around $30 ~ if you want the plugin to do it right in photoshop, it's only about $18 extra, but no matter what, you get your money's worth! Check out the area in the box and surrounding it...that was just a few clicks and I cleaned up the noise enough for an enlargement photo. Note: most noise is apparent when you zoom in on a photo, but it is not noticeable when printed at 4x6 or even 5x7 size, so if it is not overly grainy, and you don't plan to enlarge it, you are probably best to leave it untouched. But isn't it nice knowing there is a solution out there for when you want a picture, but the lighting conditions aren't the best?

I'm going to try and get another post out before the 4th of July on taking pictures of fireworks! Digital SLR users, TURN OFF YOUR AUTO and start using program modes! I'll give you some tips!
